Sabrina here! Lovely to make your acquaintance
About the Artist
Welcome to my carrd! My name is Sabrina and I'm a Venezuelan-American illustrator, animator, graphic designer, story artist, and CG generalist. My motivation for drawing came from my love of cartoons and all types of creative media like music, fashion, arts & crafts, video games, toys, comic books, and my maladaptive daydreaming. I'm going to make a webcomic soon so keep on the lookout for that!
How I Started
I was very odd and introverted (still am) as a kid and spent a lot of time in my imagination and reading books. And when I wasn't watching cartoons I was either drawing or creating dark and intense storylines with my little pony dolls in my closet (my favorite is Twilight Sparkle)As I grew older, I noticed there weren't many cartoons, animated movies, comics, nor video games that had characters with stories that I could relate to (specifically the first-gen Latina/Venezuelan-American experience). And even if it wasn't culture-based, the media I DID enjoy kept finding new ways to skew in the worst direction possible. Basically, I was tired of the slop that studios were putting out and began drawing with the dream of creating my own stories for others like me to see.So that's where my art journey began; I would try to copy the art style of my favorite shows playing on the tv, I watched "How to Draw" Youtube videos of my favorite artists, I would scroll on Google (yes, Google- I was 10) for hours to find other artists and study their styles. Eventually, I chose to expand my knowledge and attend art school. My parents would eventually buy me my first laptop a few years later and I went crazy on MS paint and Fire Alpaca- leading to the birth of my ocs haha. I then moved to Photoshop and I drew on there for years until just last year, I got my first Ipad where I use Procreate to draw while pursuing my BFA in computer animation.
My goal
My life goal is to create an animated series of my characters- or at least a webcomic of them. I refuse to die without the world hearing about the stories I have to tell. I also want my art to be inspiring to others so that they can pursue their ambitions as well.
